It Happened Like This

Jill Elliott first opened Haberdashery’s doors in March of 2001. It began in the back store room of her father’s music shop on Main Street where she covered the walls with old local newspapers from the 1940s. People loved seeing the old stories on the walls but even more they saw something different and unique in the product displays. Earlier that year, Jill had returned from a buying trip where she relied on her principle of “buy what I would wear”. It worked. Despite the store being tucked away inside another store, the word got out and the customer base started to build. Both then and now, there are those who want to make a statement with what they wear. When they walk into the room wearing Haberdashery, people notice.

Fast forward to today and you’ll find Haberdashery in a more prominent space but still full of inspiring fashion and carefully curated looks.  Jill continues to travel the world looking for inspiration and making selections that keep Haberdashery the place to be surprised. Surprised by the beauty inside.
